Ans. In
the month of October the weather becomes sticky and oppressive due to the
excessive heat and humidity with the apparent movement of Sun towards the south.
This is called october heat.

occur?
Ans. Parts of North and North West India
experience strong, hot, dry, dusty winds during the day. They are locally
called loo.
Some times they bring thunderstorm.
Q3. What is Kalbaishakhi ? Why it is
called so?
Ans. During the month of Baisakh violent
thunderstorms occur in the evening in West Bengal and Assam , they are
termed as Kalbaisakhi.
They bring heavy rainfall with hailstorm.

Ans. In Kerala and Karnataka the pre-monsoon showers help in the ripening of Mangoes.

advancing monsoons.
Ans. The advancing monsoons started early June
to September.
The direction of the wind is north east in
winter and south west in summer.
It gets divided into two branches, Arabian Sea
branch and Bay of Bengal branch.
The monsoon is irregular and undependable.
Q3. Describe the main aspects of
retreating monsoon.
Ans. The retreating monsoon starts to leave
north east in October and by November end it leaves the country.
October heat is main phenomenon during the
retreating monsoon.
It showers over Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala.
This gives rise to severe cyclonic storms.
